System Sizing Tool

Correct pump selection starts with reliable system data. In slurry applications, the pump cannot be selected by flow and head alone. Slurry density, solids concentration, particle size, pipe diameter, pipeline length, elevation difference, fittings, valves and operating schedule all affect the actual duty point.

Excellence Pump provides professional system sizing support to convert field operating conditions into accurate clean water performance selection parameters. This helps customers select the right pump model, impeller diameter, speed, motor power and material configuration for the actual working condition.

Input Data Review

Our engineers review the information provided by the customer, including required flow rate, total head, pipeline route, pipe diameter, pipe material, slurry density, solids concentration, particle size distribution, temperature, pH value, installation height and operating hours. Missing or uncertain data will be checked before final selection.

Pipeline Resistance Calculation

Pipeline resistance is calculated according to pipe length, elevation difference, bends, valves, fittings and slurry flow velocity. The calculation helps identify whether the system has excessive friction loss, unsuitable pipe diameter or a risk of unstable slurry transport.

Slurry Correction and Clean Water Equivalent

Slurry service usually requires correction from clean water performance. Based on slurry properties and operating conditions, we evaluate the effect of density, concentration and particle behavior on pump head, efficiency and power demand. The result is converted into clean water equivalent parameters for reliable pump selection.

Duty Point and Pump Selection

The calculated system curve is compared with pump performance curves to determine a suitable operating point. We consider flow range, head margin, pump efficiency, impeller diameter, speed, NPSH requirement, motor power and wear allowance to avoid oversizing, undersizing or operation far from the best efficiency range.

Selection Output

The sizing result can include recommended pump model, operating speed, impeller diameter, expected flow and head, motor power, material recommendation, sealing arrangement and key installation notes. For demanding applications, further review can be made for wear life, cavitation risk and system stability.

To support accurate sizing, please provide flow rate, head requirement, slurry density, solids concentration, particle size, pipeline length, pipe diameter, elevation difference, valve and fitting information, installation conditions and current equipment data if available.
